Yes. Being a highly traditional religious site, visitors must dress modestly: ​Women: Sarees, salwar kameez, or half-sarees. Heavy western wear like shorts, mini-skirts, or tight jeans is generally restricted. ​Men: Dhotis, veshtis, or formal trousers. Men are usually required to remove their shirts or wear a traditional shawl (angavastram) when entering the innermost sanctum. ​Note: You will need to change into dry clothes after the 22-well bath ritual before you can proceed to the main prayer area.

The ideal time to visit is between October and March. The winter months are pleasant and cool, with temperatures hovering around 17°C to 30°C, making beach visits and temple lines highly manageable. Summers (March to June) can get intensely hot and humid, frequently crossing 40°C.
