While both feature the iconic off-white body with a golden border, their structures are completely different: ​Kasavu Saree: A single piece of continuous fabric, typically 5.5 to 6 meters long, draped just like any standard Indian saree. ​Set-Mundu (Mundum Neriyathum): The ancient, traditional attire of Kerala women. It is a two-piece garment consisting of a lower wrap (Mundu) and an upper piece (Neriyathu) draped across the shoulder over the blouse to look like a single ensemble.

First Wash: Dry cleaning is highly recommended to protect the starch structure and the delicate metallic threads. ​Subsequent Washes: Hand wash gently in cold water using a mild, diluted baby shampoo. Never wring or twist the fabric tightly. ​Drying & Ironing: Always dry them flat in a shaded area away from direct sunlight (which tarnishes real gold/silver threads). Iron on the reverse side while the fabric is slightly damp.
