If you are visiting Trichy, these three attractions are absolutely unmissable: ​The Rockfort Temple Complex: Climb the 417 stone steps carved into the ancient rock to reach the top. The summit offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire city and the Kaveri River. ​Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple: A magnificent island temple complex with 21 grand gopurams (tower gateways). It's a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture. ​Jambukeswarar Temple (Thiruvanaikaval): Located very close to Srirangam, this temple represents the element of Water (Appu Lingam). The main deity sits over an underground water spring that constantly keeps the inner sanctum moist.

The ideal window to visit is from November to February. The weather during these winter months is comfortable and pleasant for climbing the Rockfort and walking through large temple complexes. Summers (March to June) are famously intense in Trichy, with temperatures frequently climbing past 40°C.
