The Krishnapuram Palace, located in Kayamkulam (near Alappuzha), is one of the most iconic examples of traditional Kerala architecture. Originally built by King Veera Ravi Varma of the Odanad kingdom, it was later reconstructed in the 18th century by Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma after he annexed Odanad into the Travancore kingdom.
