Vattavada
Vattavada is a remote, picturesque agricultural village nestled deep in the Western Ghats of the Idukki district in Kerala, located not far from Marayoor and Munnar. Perched at a high altitude in a rain-shadow region, it is famously known as the "market of Kerala" for its abundant vegetable cultivation.
Cool Climate & Terrain: Characterized by rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and mist-covered valleys that offer a starkly different landscape from the typical tropical scenery of Kerala.
Agricultural Hub: Unlike most of Kerala, Vattavada's unique climate allows for the extensive cultivation of cool-season crops, including carrots, cabbage, beetroot, garlic, strawberries, passion fruit, and various exotic vegetables.
Trekking & Nature: Surrounded by shola forests and mountain ridges, it serves as an excellent off-the-beaten-path destination for hiking, nature walks, and exploring rural farming life.
